Safe Spaces

When you enter into this place, you become part of a dance community. Like any community, this one is shaped by those who share in it. We endeavor to create an emotionally and physically safe space for all persons to engage in the music, movement, learning, and culture of vernacular jazz and swing dance. The responsibility of this endeavor rests on every single participant in this scene, so we need you to know what a "safe space" is.

An emotionally and physically safe dance space is one in which:

This is our scene and we are proud of it- our scene, our responsibility. It is the duty of each of us to nurture the positive experiences of fellow dancers. If you are ready to share in that responsibility with us, welcome. Make yourself at home; we’re glad you’re here.
