This year we have for your Lindy edification...

Casey Schneider & Mike Faltesek
and
Carla Heiney & Nick Williams

Photo of Mike Faltesek and Casey SchneiderFrom its inception, the goal of Jammin' has been to bring the best instructors we could get our hands on here to us. Along with that, it was our hope that big-name instructors would also attract dancers from the Mid-Atlantic region (and beyond) here to dance with us. The concept of sleeping in our own beds during a weekend of Lindy Hop immersion seemed like a good idea after countless hours of driving to out-of-town events, sleeping on floors, and sharing toothbrushes (OK, it was never that bad). For seven years our little plot has worked pretty well.

Photo of Nick Williams and Carla HeineyThis year we once again have some of the biggest names in the Lindy world coming to impart a little Lindy wisdom to help make all of us just a little bit better on the dance floor. Each of these dancers are among the best Lindy Hoppers in the world today and are critically-acclaimed for their innovative styles on the dance floor and in the classroom. You don't have to take our word for it. Simply watch their videos (collectively and individually) on You Tube and decide for yourself. We think you'll tend to agree with us. ; )

Their insights, knowledge of the history of the dance, and their inspiring dancing will help us all become better dancers. Come to Richmond in October and experience them first-hand!

We will be offering workshops in an INTERMEDIATE track as well as a BEGINNER track. Dancers with a good handle on Lindy basics will learn new moves, styling, and concepts in the Intermediate classes that will make dancing more fun and creative. Folks new to swing dancing will have to opportunity to learn the basics from some of the best dancers on the planet. In order to provide an optimal experience for the beginner Lindy Hopper, the Beginner class size will be limited to 20, making them like group private lessons. .Plus we'll keep it to 4 workshops (two each day) in order to maximize retention and to prevent brain frying and head explosions. Plus there will be time to practice at the end of each day.

And once again we will be offering two ADVANCED level workshops!!!

Dancing? You bet! Three dances featuring our local bands plus late night on Friday and Saturday with special guest DJs, Bill Speidel and Laura Windley!

We're really excited about this weekend and you should be too!

We'll be updating the website as we finalize details and expect to have registration open sometime in August. In the meantime feel free to email us at info@jamminonthejames.com with any questions you may have.

We hope to see you in Richmond in October!
